Yes, we have changed our name! Rainbow Reins Therapeutic Riding Program, is now Rainbow Reins Equine Activities, Inc. What has not changed is our continued dedication to safety, personal service and innovative activities.
MISSION STATEMENT
To promote and provide equine assisted activities and therapies to all riders with disabilities.
Our people first approach empowers our clients to realize there are no reins to limit the horse and rider potential.
Our program is modeled after the NARHA guidelines and is a NARHA Center since 2005. All riding lessons are conducted by NARHA Certified Instructors with trained volunteers, who are motivated to helping each rider discover their unique potential. Therapeutic riding lessons are planned with the individuals educational, physical, social and recreational needs in mind.
Once an applicant is accepted in the program, the staff will develop an individual riding plan (IRP) tailored to each riders needs. The lesson plan will include goals and objectives. We have always encouraged parents, teachers and therapists to participate in this process. The riders progress is documented weekly. The majority of participants have one 30 minute lesson each week. The length of the session is 10 to 12 weeks, with the majority continuing their lessons from one semester to the next.
The following documentation is required before the start of the program. Please email and a packet will be mailed to you.
